Taxi driver licence in Nurmes
Nurmes has a service point of Traficom's service provider both until the end of 2026 and from 1 January 2027, so you usually do not need to travel to another town for the exam. There are 12 taxi companies in Nurmes.
Exam locations
- Until 31 December 2026: Ajovarma Nurmes, Teollisuustie 9, 75530 Nurmes.
- From 1 January 2027: CityKuljettajat Nurmes, Pitkänmäentie 38, 75530 Nurmes (offices open on 4 January 2027).
The sources do not say for each service point whether it holds the taxi driver exam. Check with the provider before you book. According to Ajovarma's price list, the exam costs 138 € and the licence application 57 € (read 5 November 2026). The exam is in Finnish or Swedish: 60 questions in 45 minutes.
Kela taxis 2027: North Karelia
The providers chosen by Kela from 1 January 2027: Joensuun Taksi Oy and Konnektio Oy. According to Kela, since 1 January 2024 only drivers trained to meet special groups may drive Kela taxis: driver training for special groups.
