Taxi driver licence in Vaasa
Vaasa has a service point of Traficom's service provider both until the end of 2026 and from 1 January 2027, so you usually do not need to travel to another town for the exam. There are 32 taxi companies in Vaasa.
Exam locations
- Until 31 December 2026: Ajovarma Vaasa-Rantamaantie, Rantamaantie 40A, 65350 Vaasa.
- From 1 January 2027: CityKuljettajat Vaasa, Kalastajankatu 14, 65100 Vaasa (offices open on 4 January 2027).
The sources do not say for each service point whether it holds the taxi driver exam. Check with the provider before you book. According to Ajovarma's price list, the exam costs 138 € and the licence application 57 € (read 5 November 2026). The exam is in Finnish or Swedish: 60 questions in 45 minutes.
Kela taxis 2027: Ostrobothnia
The providers chosen by Kela from 1 January 2027: Keski-Suomen Matkojenyhdistelykeskus Oy and Keskustaksi Oy. According to Kela, since 1 January 2024 only drivers trained to meet special groups may drive Kela taxis: driver training for special groups.
